Latest craze in animation? Going lo-tech. Check out www.machinima.com. Zero 7 likes it, and I like Zero 7.

It's caterpillar season?

I love my headphones.

In other news (gleaned from MINI in Germany):
Munich: MINI has been looking for an answer to the question of how comfort, design and driving pleasure can be experienced in a new way. The answer is a partnership with PUMA. As a result, the automobile brand and sports article company have entered into an unusual, international cooperation: The innovative driver's shoe is called MINI Motion and combines the design competence of MINI and the longstanding know-how of PUMA.

They're only making 2000 of them, and doubt there will be any left to come Stateside...

What's old is new and oh-so-hip again. In their latest marketing stunt, Spiewak will be using chalk to mark up the streets of Las Vegas with a series of symbols similar to those used by late 19th century American hobos to communicate with each other. The new set of symbols is intended to help global travelers find what they need in foreign cities. For example, there are symbols for “Good DJ/Music” and “Open Internet (Wi-Fi) Access”. Spiewak also plans to distribute the chalk in party goodie bags and will do a small push of the symbols in three or four other major U.S. markets. Interesting stuff.

this morning while zooming to work an hour late i passed a billboard on 95 that looked like it had been vandalized, tagged but in a really artisitic ESPO-kind of style... the signature electricmoyo.com was incorporated, so i followed and got the scoop... a travelling artist paints over Nissan signage and billboards. with permission. seems like they are behind it, i think. kinda cool nonetheless. check it out here.

It's amazing to go to a city like NY and compare it to Philly to get a real sense of what works and what doesn't. Philly needs a real taxi pool and a better mass transit system that costs less and actually runs. New York needs right-hand turns on red. Philly stuff needs to be open late, and on Sundays. Soy milk should be offered wherever there is milk, and low-carb versions of popular dishes should reside on the menu as well. New York needs to get over itself. Well, so does Philly.

But perhaps the best thing about NYC is this: we spent the entire night out at bars and restaurants and clubs, and when we came home, our clothes and hair and skin did not reek of smoke. Amazing. You can't go down the block in Philly without getting assaulted second-hand with some foul air... if they can do it, so can Sillydelphia...

Perhaps the most romantic dining room in NYC? Incredible service, while dining at least, and an incredible maze of rooms and levels... the moat surrounding the vaulted brick dining grotto cannot be captured in pictures... we had a wonderful time. Check out Suba's sick space via their slick site here.

You can now buy graphic design services on ebay. Bid on identity design starting at $15!!! Further trivialization of the design profession can be yours by clicking here...

Once you've paid via PayPal for that hot new logo, be proactive and protect it against not-so-hot brands and knock-offs with this nifty idea of a site...

Beautiful today. At lunch in the park next door we found a tennis ball and were throwing it around in the driveway... yelled "CAR!" everytime one pulled up... haven't done that since the single digits...

I want to find an old car and rod it the way it used to be done... second-hand parts, chopped-top, wide whitewalls, and black primer - kool. Gotta stop buying those damned magazines... or i gotta find myself a garage!

Forget mules or stillettos, the Mobious Strip is the new summer sexy. Check them out here.

Thanks Dad for letting me steal the treadmill for a little while. Man, I wish I had my digital camera with me... 2 grown men and a treadmill stuft inside a MINI!

(try this out)

- Go to www.google.com
- Then type: weapons of mass destruction
- Don't press "Search"
- Next click the "I'm feeling lucky" button
- Read the whole error message carefully

Same thing also works for "French Military Victories".

On a slightly more serious note, go rent Ordinary Decent Criminal with Kevin Spacey. Good stuff.

Been a while. Lots has happened.

Most notably, the sun has come out of hiding, and summer has officially begun. That helps explain some of the lack of posting.

Also, some things have happened with my gastrointestinal system... not everything seems to be working right. After a short trip to the ER last week, I've decided it needs tending to. I'm off to a specialist in an hour.

New Radiohead rocks. Interpol rocks too.

Wait for T3 to come out on video, or air on USA or TNN some random Sunday afternoon.

Lots of things have been happening to mister MINI, and I'm working on a section on my site to highlight it all. Also I'll be adding a section for my published book as well as a little place to rant about the recent misrepresentation of my design work in CA Annual 43. I'll be adding to the Photo section as I get things scanned. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, for shizzle, check http://www.asksnoop.com.
