Jeff is
selling some stuff... and of course his page is slicker than the original
IKEA site...
craigslist is a beautiful thing... in all it's early-HTML-style glory (did I just invent a genre?)... it’s the new
eBay! Or the new black! Or the new new! Or something... new is so, you know, old... we need something newer than new, new is so yesterday, so last week... it’s just not
now enough...
Cool to see peeps at the
Philly Style party last night, and to finally see what all the hubbub was about over Red Sky - apparently, nothing.
Ah,
Thom Yorke and burnt bean juice makes a boy happy in such a depressing, yet amped kinda way...
Pixelized tees.
Make’em yerself.
Goldmine.
And finally, this is tonite:
An

Has
MTV finally given up on non-locations? Rumor has it
“Real World” might finally be
coming to Philly. Go make some noise at
PhillyBlog about
where you think they should live...

What to do when
Mom (or
work) finds out about your blog. Funny, I’m not freaked if anyone at home or at work finds this. Even if I had the infinte time and space it would take to chronicle the goings-on of my day-to-day, no one would believe me. Because no job could possibly be
this inane. And no person could possibly be
this fabulous. None of this can possibly be true. All this is is a way for me to post crap I think is somewhat cool and make semi-unimportant announcements from time to time. It’s my blog, damnit. Does any of this make sense? Too bad. Do you care? Most likely, no. I don’t think my parents have figured out how to turn on their PeeCee yet, anyway. ’nuff said.
Soulful objects in good form.
A disgusting family of miscreants. Right-o.
Gabriel Bridger’s incredible MINI site posted incredible news about linking an
iPod to the MINI’s steering wheel controls... move over
BlitzSafe, it’s time for something leaner...
But once you’ve done it, don’t fall victim to
playlistism...

I am one billionth of humanity. And .000000009% of the web.
Yet another site doing what my lazy ass has always wanted to do...
DIAD is way cool.
Carlos Contreras unofficially took
17th this weekend. Too bad no one knows what
USTYLE is... or that, even if you did, you can’t buy it yet.
Song is doing a good job of becoming the next
Jet Blue...
Congrats to
Apple’s iTunes for winning
Time mag’s Invention of the Year award.

Americans eat approximately 100 acres of pizza a day. 350 slices per second. 23 pounds a year. Disturbing.
Even more disturbing is that
Wal-Mart, the largest and most powerful company in the world and champion of the “Buy American” campaign, is responsible for 10% of all Chinese exports to the US.
Just one company. Find out more in
this staggering “Fast Company” article.
And now, the retailer is planning to launch a
pay-per-song music downloading service, similar to
iTunes, by the end of the year. Naturally, since they’re already the world’s top seller of compact discs, controlling 14% of worldwide music sales. How much do you wanna bet the songs will be 97¢ each?
God save us.
In better news, just got word that Mr. Flax and Melanie will be joining us right-coasters for the holidays. Excellent. All my wayward boys back from Cali...
And, type in words
here and let rock’s biggest stars sing it back to you. Check it out before Wal-Mart finds a way to charge you for it.

A little late, but still, go see
Psyop’s sweet short for
Bombay Sapphire called
“Drift”.
Scünci is
sponsoring the
HRT Busch Series NASCAR for the last race of the season... we’ll see how he does come Saturday...

Reverse filibuster tonight. 30 hours of useless talking to take up time and space. Sounds like
my workplace. And, speaking of sleepwalking,
BT has a video out for
Somnambulist.
Paper show and lecture tonight at the Kimmel Center. Check
here for details and to RSVP... I don’t think I’ll make it, but
you should go.
The Breast Cancer Site needs your clicks. They’re attempting to give twice the usual mammogram funding this November!
Visit them (and their sister sites) and show your support!
Paul has put up his site.
Go check his talents. Also, check out
this neat little site from some designer in the Netherlands.
Be a DJ. From your computer. Check out this
nice software.
Let’s go to the drags!

Russ pointed out that you don’t see
these for sale on eBay all that often... but it would come in
awful handy in case of the
end of the world... WTF?

Lots a-bloggin’ today, friends...
< technical >
Sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced looking at my work. You
do look at my work, don’t you? I have been updating some things on the site using a different FTP program, and it seems to have condensed my HTML, deleting spaces and line breaks in the code. Which is not good for scripts. It’s fixed now. I think.

Thanks to the anonymous drunk girl at
North 3rd who alerted us to
this on Saturday night... I tried to get it on film, but the
AL-1 is out of commission... and it wasn’t bright enough for the digital...
Guys, here’s a tip: if you happen upon girls at a bar that have boyfriends and that aren’t interested in you, and they leave because you creep them out, it is
NOT cool to follow them to the next bar across town to continue to creep them out. That, gents, is grounds for an ass-whooping.
Those damned Danes are
so cool... put on headphones and lay back.
Penn State has
teamed up with
Napster to provide digital music to students and cut down on filesharing and music piracy. But, as students are
now finding out, the deal isn’t all it’s cracked up to be... at least not for them. First, the service isn’t free, as it’s been touted. The service fee for Napster comes from the students’ existing IT fee. So everyone is paying for it, whether you use the service or not. Second, if you do choose to use the service, the streaming audio content is free, but it costs 99¢ per song to download to a dorm computer. Pretty standard - it's the going rate over at the
Apple Music Store. But there on that one dorm computer it must reside - it cannot be burned to a CD or otherwise transferred. And, get this, you can't take the songs with you when you leave PSU. So then, you pay for the service and for the songs that you cannot take with you when you leave the school... exactly what are you buying?
So, how about that ending to the
The Matrix Revolutions?
This may shed some light.
Thanks, Brian, for
this awesome album cover link.
Disposable email addresses... quite interesting...
Nose down, ass up. I like my bugs
olde skool. And
cal-look. And
severely chopped. And, well, any which way I can get ’em.
And the battle between bhogan and myself is now online for all to witness, blow by blow.
Check it out!

Jeff and
Karla are back! Happy birthday Jeff!
The boys at
TDR have launched the
Manhattan Loft Corporation site. I wish
my spot (both residential
and virtual) looked like this.
I've wanted to do something like
this about Philly for quite some time now...
my book was a start, but had a different purpose... a site might be easier to manage and update... wheels are turning...
Way better
DVD and CD packaging.
And cool
lunch packaging from the past... wish I could find my old
Star Wars box!
Go get fonts. Info. Links. Tons. Holy crap.
Let the
punishment begin. O well...

My back hurts.
200% excitement!
If anybody is looking for a MINI without wanting to order and wait for one, give Mini of the Mail Line a call. Good bunch of guys over there. It's where I bought mine! Anyways, they have a few Coopers and Cooper S's in stock and ready to go. They even have a couple of pre-owned MINI's available, but only Coopers (no S's). Email
Mark @ MINI of the Main Line.
Sorry that we'll be missing your boxing event tomorrow Rob... best of luck to you and your athletes!

Oh well. 4 more years of
Street. 4 more years of pay-to-play, croneyism, corruption, thug tactics, racial appeals, and unplowed streets in winter - oh yeah, and that pesky little
FBI investigation thing. And to think, at this election there were only 118 counts of
voting intimidation and violence! So much for the good Rendell did for this city...
Speaking of all things Philly and bad-ass, check out the Philadelphia
font and dingbat sets by
Iconian. The 'bats, alas, are for PeeCee only.
And for an update on things
not in Philly that I wish
were, Spanish retailer
Zara has entered into the home furnishings arena. Slick site to boot. Despite the great efforts of my cousin
Frank DiCicco, we don't need more
IKEAs... bring Zara here!
And now for something completely different...
Bug Selecta!

My patent was granted: D481239, hair band display. I only found out about it when
some company wanted me to buy a plaque with it engraved. Thanks, no.
Cool to hear
Google acquired
Pyra Labs, makers of
Blogger. I like both these companies and their stuff.
Monica's pyschadelic Halloween photos... this time I'm actually in one!
Glucosamine = next thing?
Motion Potion thinks so...

Even more ladybugs today. And it's 81 degrees. In November. Go figure.
Only in South Philly... Go Gorillas!
Not one kid came a-trick-o-treatin to the loft on Friday. I guess that's what happens when your house looks like an
old factory on a block surrounded by old factories.
773's shindig was a great time (Amy's pics... none of me or Kendra). It's a shame some people who attend such otherwise excellent functions feel the need to take things that aren't theirs when they leave. And duct tape pets in uncomfortable places. Wankers.
Sorry I missed my boys
the Inmen playing the
North Star this past weekend... I heard it was quite the show... damn.
Good article on what branding is and why it's important (other than for keeping me employed).
Karate come from
HERE!
Cool
pins. Even cooler
rod site. Well done. Check'em.
Von Dutch (the man, not the
clothes) puts it in perspective:
"I make a point of staying right at the edge of poverty. I don't have a pair of pants without a hole in them, and the only pair of boots I have are on my feet. I don't mess around with unnecessary stuff, so I don't need much money. I believe it's meant to be that way. There's a 'struggle' you have to go through, and if you make a lot of money it doesn't make the 'struggle' go away. It just makes it more complicated. If you keep poor, the struggle is simple."
