Much ado about the similarities between MINIs and the current Chevy Nomad concept car... with the exception of the ’54 Corvette grille, it’s a longer, lower Cooper.

Thanks to John Langdon, ambigram master, for the compliments on my Spooks ambigram...

New M. Night trailer... and much to my delight, creepy as all hell... excellent cast as well...

New Kill Bill trailer too...

I’m up... go to Can You Type? and scroll to the end...

Orkut is Google’s Friendster... by invite only, though...

Just plain dumb.

Thanks to Julie for posting a pic of my car on the home page for the PhillyMINI Yahoo Group!

Didn’t know that the big ship rusting on the Delaware in South Philly, the SS United States, had a website...

Different District is a really thorough Apple site... they even have a complete collection of all Apple ads.

ipodminibattery.com offers a low-cost solution to the potential battery problem some older iPods have been experiencing...

Whoa. Nicely done.

DFORM1’s reel is also impressive.

Flash turntable puts you on the wheels of steel... sorta.

Ebay Motors’ Fastforward/Fastback project is nice, and bears an uncanny resemblance to the brand new Mustang.

Interesting NYT article on strategies car companies (esp. MINIUSA) are using to make waiting fun... one of PhillyMINI’s own members is the subject of the article! Congrats to John P. Meyers. He only had to wait a few months. Lucky guy... I had to wait 6 months and ordered before my dealership was even open for business...

I've been considering buying a home lately... I love the loft, but I can’t see continuing to pay this kind of money for nothing really tangible. I’ve been looking around at stuff, but there isn't much out there that is to my liking that is modernist (my taste is more Farnsworth House and Neutra homes)... nothing around here, on the market, and within my financial grasp. Through LiveModern, I came across Greg La Vardera... he’s a multidisciplined designer with some really interesting plans for modern homes in a wide variety of styles... I am quite fond of the Deck House... and to boot he’s local!

Cool... I’d help, but I donÆt want to part with my Matchbox cars to make a General Lee... I do like the idea of changing the Stars and Bars to a Union Jack...

Just submitted to Can you type?

Good page of funny (and often heard) design terms. From Stacy.

Dream Machine, indeed... I was thinking more along the lines of this...

Anyone (or anyone you know) need a loveseat? Julie is selling her Natuzzi...

Before there was an internet, there were the BBSes... I came in on the tail end of that stuff as I didn’t get a modem until almost high school. textfiles attempts to salvage the data from them and recreate a picture of that time...

Both of my posts to Lunarama are up under Philadelphia. Sleep is for the weak.

Volkswagenball.

According to TrendCentral:
• Sneaker maker Puma has teamed with hot designer/architect Philippe Starck to create a new line of sports shoes. The minimalist and modern footwear line will debut this Autumn.
• First there was cherry, then lemon, and finally vanilla. The latest flavor to hit the soda industry is lime. This month will see the launch of Diet Coke with Lime.

I don't know if I’d drive it, but it sure is cool... betcha that side-mounted cannon keeps those with road rage at bay...

Not fooling anybody is some interesting use of bandwidth.

NAIAS photos from Big Brother... can’t hardly wait until Philly’s opens later this month...

Happy National Nothing Day!

Philly needs one of these services...

What’s the story with Johnny Appleseed?

Got some pretty powdery stuff last night. And as usual all the jackasses piled into their cars and SUVs this morning and tried to go as fast as possible. I don’t get it... just because your vehicle can get up speed in the snow, the fact that it weighs almost two tons means that it probably won’t stop very well at speed. That’s why some of those people out there are going under the speed limit... not becuase they don’t have SUVs. Oh, and you should probably clear the snow off your back window - you do look through it once and a while, right? And you might want to use those blinky lights on the sides of your car... they kinda help the other people you can’t see through your blocked back window know what stupid trick you’re about to pull.

Anyways, to better things: here’s some spy video of the new MINI Cooper S testing at the Nurburgring in Germany. Sweet.

Mmmmmmmmm, scrapple... old shoes, worn tires, rubber eraser shavings... that’s where they go, you know...

Neighborhoodies now broadcasts music... and you know it’s fresh cuz, because my ’hood rocks just like SO hard and stuff. Pics soon.

Just like working in Windows...

Thanks to Russ for letting me drive his GTI... weee!

When leaving for work this morning, a woman was outside my building with clipboard in hand. She was from Drexel, my alma mater, and students for the Interiors and Architecture Graduate Program were coming to study it! She came inside and took a few pics, with all my laundry everywhere. That’ll teach me.

URLDJs rock the web.

Iconfactory releases new skinnable version of iPulse... too slick.

Now your computer can look like your car. Well, my car.

Boo hoo... Dell and Microsoft whine about iPod limiting choice in music services. They’re just pissed HP is partnering with Apple to make their own iPod... and they didn’t.

God, I need a haircut.

Cool shots of abandoned places... cool like Forgotten NYC... I really need to get my ass in gear and start documenting Philly stuff...

Lunarama is a directory of after-hours eateries... but Philly wasn’t properly represented... so I entered Silk City and the Melrose...

Standing on my head and spitting up wooden nickels... now you can all know what I'm talking about.

Notwist - album of the year? Minimal coolness, kinda like Badly Drawn Boy meets Stereolab... I like the stuff... monilove points out they are playing the Bowery Feb 3rd and 4th...

I like the Exposé feature in Panther but have heard the nightmares of installing th new system... I found a little app called WindowShade X that will minimize all windows in place on your screen - like an Exposé workaround, but runs in Jaguar, although not as slick... check it out!

Go Birds!

We must gets us one, yesssssss, we must...

Hey, I don’t drink the stuff, but the Bud Light American Heroes and Real Men of Genius ads are pretty damned funny...

Brian Hogan says it best:
Sad... but true... like when they digitized Jabba in Star Wars and Han walks over his tail.”

True.

With the windchill this morning, it feels like 4.

Make your handwriting a font for free! Thanks Jeffy for the heads-up!

Funny face maker... from moni-love...

You will be missed, Tugger...

Apple shrunk the iPod!

Lifestyle site for the urban junkie... basically really cool, but really expensive, crapola.

Speaking of holy crapola, my iBook crapped out. Crapola. Crapola. Crapola. Thank goodness for CharlesSoft’s BootCD, saved my butt and let me transfer files from my lifeless laptop...

Happy slightly belated b-day Stank-E!

New updated resume (PDF) available via navigation at left or by clicking here. Let me know what you think. I still think it looks a bit too corporate...

Also updated MINI section to link to my semi-official “resume” at the official MINI USA site... check it out in the stuff section, available via navigation at left...

VWvortex, a great site for veedub enthusiasts (and sister sites cover BMW, Audi, Volvo, etc), posted some great SEMA photos... wild stuff...

Happy New Year!

Congrats to Fralinger NYB on their win. What a pleasure to see the crowds back on Broad Street...

And be careful out there... Kendra and I saw at least 2 very drunk people driving...
