Speaking of movies... as a promotion for the September 17th release of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Paramount Pictures is offering a free downloadable video game called Flying Legion Air Combat Challenge. It’s actually available for Mac, too! Included in the whopping 45MB download are three full-length scenes not in the theatrical release. There will also be a game tournament starting August 2nd, the winner receiving a trip to London for the movie premiere. Via TrendCentral.

Through the miracles of modern web programming, you can now determine your ideal occupation by simply typing your name at The Job Predictor. I know it’s accurate, because it said my ideal job would be a rally car driver. Thanks, Mo!
Here’s an article about a guy who was refused service on his Evo because his son had entered and raced an SCCA autocross. What’s disturbing about this article (and what the article skirts around) is the fact that the warranty on the Evo was already void, unbeknownst to him. It’s one thing to go drag racing and blow a clutch, come to the dealer, and they then refuse to foot the bill for replacement parts - that’s understandable. But it’s another thing entirely for a car manufacturer to actively search out individuals who enter their vehicles into competitions and then flag them as void from warranty repair for life before the car is even brought in for service. Sounds a bit Big Brother-ish to me, and knocks the Evo down a few notches on my ”drool-worthy cars” list...

So inspired by the previous day’s Ducati sighting was I that I bought this... well, a desktop miniature from Toys for Men at least.
While walking through the Liberty Lands Spring Music Festival, I saw, parked, one of these bad boys. Very rare sighting indeed - only available via the internet, and only 2000 were hand-made, one year only. Thanks to Brian for helping me figure it out...
Greatest game ever.
Finally, what I’ve been looking for... a DVD rewinder! No more fees from Blockbuster! Now, if only they made one that looks like a Ferrari, I‘d be sold...
What‘s that? Your phone doesn‘t take pictures, play music, surf the web and fold your laundry? Recycle it and get a new one... or, be like me, hold on to your cracked flipper and wait until November of next year so you can finally dump AT&T‘s consistently craptacular service without paying their exorbitant $275 early termination fee... then recycle it.

Everything looks, feels different today.
My sincere condolences to Andrea and her family.
Don’t think my pops was all that keen on my getting my motorcycle license. He got kinda quiet when I told him. Considering our family’s history with them, I can understand. Well, that’s what the MSF is for, which I passed with flying colors (the second time). I guess it’s the parental thing to do.
At any rate, Sea Isle (or, La Costa at least) is still the same... how much is the cover there, Brian???
Boy was it great to take those backroads home again. It’s been years since I wound my way up and down 50, 557 and good old 666. Somehow, even in the dark, I remembered those roads I used to take in the LoveJetta like they were part of my daily commute. It will be something to retrace them again on the R5.
Finished out this hectic weekend attempting to chill with a Djarum, a Saison and some jazz at Roger’s Jam Session - where I ran into the Ex... yes, with capital “E”. Everyone’s got one.
Strange, to have gone through so much over a person for so long, and then to see that person face-to-face - and not feel that ache once so poignantly associated with them. To feel, in fact, nothing... except momentarily, realizing I was being introduced to her current, where, in the same bar, many moons ago, I was in his shoes, being introduced to someone from her past...
Upon reflection as I walked the empty streets home, I realized that slight tinge was just sadness at the passing of so many moons.
The more things change, the more time passes, the more everything is the same, and everything comes full circle.

One MUST read this column written by a guy who moves to NYC to become a rockstar. It even says so on his business card...
Man modifies his iTrip, makes own pirate radio station that broadcasts from his car. Complete with bumper-sticker advertising.
Julie Hoffman, founder of PhillyMINI, is now officially a Motoring Advisor over at Otto’s MINI... congrats!
Intel makes it possible to surf the internet - literally.
Cool 1-piece no-tools-required chair from Ben Wilson - ease in manufacture, transport, and construction opens up new avenues in creativity. Speaking of cool, check out this fan too...
Peruse 50’s and early 60’s commercial animation cels.
Nice re-treatment of the Yankees logo, that sums up NYC nicely... Yeah, whatever. interesting that it has a Canadian domain name...

For those of you (like myself) cursed with having to traverse I-95 through Philadelphia on your way to/from work know just how hellish interesting it can be. Road surface “variation”, elevation changes that feel like a rollercoaster, and the wonderful stoppage every day the full length of the damned run though the NorthEast. Well, now you can peep at traffic conditions (slow, stopped, or running backwards) via the traffic-cams on 95revive.com. The video frames refresh every 10 seconds. They could refresh once a year, since nothing has really happened in the two-and-a-half years they’ve been pushing around barriers. Not that I’m bitter or anything. I don’t mind filling in windsheild chips, replacing tires, admiring mynew collection of dents in my rims and being late every day for work making a commute that should be 20 minutes in over an hour.

Funny. I've been beta-testing Gmail for a few weeks now. It’s pretty darned nice: super-fast, 1000 megabytes of storage, messages grouped with all replies (displayed as a conversation), and no pop-up ads or untargeted banners - only relevant text ads and links to related web pages of interest - all in true Google-style. So today I open up my Yahoo! Mail and find: streamlined interface, 100MB of email storage and message size up from 3MB to 10MB. Still crappy ads, and slow as heck though. Bethca someone’s feeling the heat...
Now you can make personalized IM/cellphone avatars with this handy “portait maker”... it's a lot easier tpo make an anime version of yourself than it is to make an accurate representation, though...

Cabbage Patch Kids re-launch this August. Wonder if there will be the lines and borderline riots of the first go-round?

Big news - Willie•Fetchko Graphic Design site is finally live! Jeff, who did the majority of the work, really did a great job...
Also, finally got around to putting up that photo blog I’ve been wanting for a while now. Not much there yet, but now I have no excuse but to get out there and start capturing stuff. Check it out, tell me what you think!
This is a Polish site about car loans, but you immediately forget that because it's undoubtedly the slickest site to come along in quite a while...
Mod furniture blog! Check out that floppy sink!
The Reverend Horton Heat is selling his shoebox Ford... nice!
Here’s a design shop with a kick-ass site (and a kick-ass name): You Are So Last Year...
Paul Frank is my mate...
USA Today puts out a reality TV FAQ - noticably missing however is the answer to my question: when will they finally friggin’ stop?!?! And also, when their creators will be placed in port-a-potties, set on fire and pushed over a cliff?!?! Hmmm...

The Senior Show was a smashing success... and extremely hot (as usual)... the work was outstanding! Such a very high level of work from the entire class. Interestingly, there were a lot of bookworks - according to the faculty, about 75% of this year’s thesis projects were some form of book. Mark Willie had an interesting theory as to why: it seems that digitally interactive projects have lost their “sexiness” somewhat, and that there is a trend with designers turning to more traditional forms of interaction, in this case, books. At any rate, the work was excellent and the classs as a whole seemed very strong. Congrats to the Class of ‘04! And congrats to Sandy, Mark, Jack, John, and the rest of the faculty at CoMAD... you guys should be very proud...
Check out the latest (err, oldest?) Batmobile (more pics here) from the forthcoming prequel Batman Begins... and check out that awesome treatment of the Batsignal/logo!
Rumor has it, Philippe Starck may be starting a prefab home company in South Beach. (via Trend Central)
Totally excellent cufflinks... give Pops a little bling...
According to DWR’s latest newsletter, a Studio of their wares may be in Philly’s future...
Holy Autobots!
Panera has a pretty nice site... and pretty good food... even if it is one of those corporate food chain things... Sorry, I know, anything that isn’t Sarcone’s should be avoided like the plague, but way out here in the sticks of Hatboro/Willow Grove/Warminster/wherever, you can’t be all that choosy (especially since you have to drive, eat and drive back within an hour), and you can’t go to Altomonte’s everyday...

Two weekends ago, Kendra and I mistakenly wound up at Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals, thinking it was the weekend for the Carlisle Custom Compact show... not quite what we were expecting, but there was some interesting stuff there, most notably the first-ever mini-van, the Brubaker Box. Now that would make a really cool parts-getter! Since then, I’ve been seeing kit cars everywhere... including some this weekend. It got me looking around on the net to figure out what they are. Came across a cool site feating some popular kits and one-offs. Kendra and I are of the same mind - dupes of Italian exotics and the like are pretty dumb, but one-offs and unique creations, like the Brubaker Box, are pretty nifty...
