This weekend is the Hatboro Car Show... Mr. Hogan will again be showing the Ranchero. The car show, which historically draws more than 75,000 visitors, will be held from 5 to 10pm, but all the cars get there around 3... see you there!
MINI dealerships are getting the first shipments of 2005s... no convertibles yet... Julie informs me that Otto's does have a bunch, and she's been trickling details to me... the headlights supposedly look even better in person, and the newer dash, revised front clip and darker headliners seem to be well received so far...
Also this weekend... Curiosa Festival rolls thru... bunch of us are going... see u there too!
And so, it begins... new teaser trailer!
Cool stuff from yesterday’s future.
I want, no need, one of these shirts.
You have bad taste in music.
Just in case anyone didn't know, the open platformed, double-decker rear entry buses, known as Routemasters are, very quietly, being taken off the streets of London. A global symbol of a world city is fading away. Help save them.
Good site of wonderful vintage fruit box and food labels... stuff is for sale too! Such incredible typography. A lost art.
Customizable bumper stickers. Say it for yourself!

This company makes one bag per day, each one different and never duplicated. You can click thru the calendar and see which ones haven't been purchased yet. Pretty interesting stuff.

Happy 1st Birthday to PhillyMINI!
Ran another successful track day with PDA on Pocono’s north course. Last year, I attended a similar event, only on the east course. That course was a bit more complex, and better suited to the MINI (see here and here)... this course (photos via Eric here) used part of the long straight of the NASCAR tri-oval, so since speeds got up there (I was up to 110!), the course seemed a lot shorter. Really got to focus on line, dialing in a turn, and connecting everything smoothly and consistently. Tons of fun - Kendra brought out the S2000 and had a blast as well... hopefully we’ll be able to sneak in a few more days like this before the end of the season.
Popsicles with translucent hollow handles and Glo-Sticks are now available at 7-11... yay!

This raises the personal concierge/delivery thing to a whole new level... at finderguy.com, type in what you are looking for, anything, and one of five full time "finders" begins searching their database of 2,600 Manhattan stores for it. They promise to find what you are looking for within three days (or give you at least a close answer)... and the service is free! They give personal descriptions of both items found and stores and their managers/employees... if only something like this would come here... I'd send them looking for a parking spot in South Philly so I could visit my parents...
On Monday, I linked to the the world's first bottle cap tripod. Apparently, eveyone wanted one, and for $10-$15 peeps snatched them all up. Every single one. In the meantime, some peeps got creative and made their own... total cost? $3.37, not including the soda bottle...
Who has the biggest record collection? Sign up to compete if you gots the platters. I had three records at one time - LL Cool J (Momma Said Knock You Out), Moni Love (It’s a Shame) and the Miami Vice Soundtrack. I don’t think I'd win. Anything.

Tons of new digital cameras announced today, including the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC P150 - with 7.2 megapixels!
I wish my commute was this nice going to and from work... nary an SUV to be seen. Check out the lane discipline of German drivers on this autobahn... just like the Schuylkill! Um, no.

A firm called Musicphone is offering MusicID™, a cool new service that allows you to identify (almost) any song the moment you hear it (on the radio, in a bar, in a club, on TV, in a movie, in a shop, etc) - and can scramble for your phone. Just hold up your mobile to the source for at least 15 seconds to allow it to get a sample of the tune. A text message is then sent to you with information about the song (artist & title). Soon, you’ll even be able to do buy the ringtone, order the CD or download the song, send a clip of the song to another phone, and get recommendations of similar music. Pretty amazing, really. There is an alternative, however... the trusty forums at good old Adtunes. Not quite as portable though.
We haven’t seen the last of UGG. Damn! The Australian company best known for their ubiquitous (and, dare I say it, ugly?) sheepskin boots is debuting a line of outerwear in the US this fall.
As part of a promotion for Anchorman, Friendster worked with DreamWorks by hosting profiles of characters from the movie. Any Friendster user can now become linked up with Ron Burgundy. How’s that for networking?
This Bottle Cap Tripod is a great idea, making it easy to throw together a jerry-rigged tripod whenever you need one.

If you're in NYC, and if the rainclouds clear tonight, you might be able to see the sun set directly down the center of any street. This phenomena only happens twice a year (every May 28 and July 12). Break out the camera! More from NASA.
In Mr. Hogan’s search for an appropriate ghetto blaster, I stumble across the Boombox Museum... ahhh, the Panasonic RX7700 and the Lasonic TRC-931...

Product design: O word? - this clock has no hands or numbers, and tells time in a more human-like (ie imprecise) manner... This is one hot grill... More cool product design... as well as another coolness-watch blog.

Hogan has indeed gone plumb crazy and bought himself a 1970 Ford pop-up camper van... but be warned, Mr. Mister, that campers have been known to cause bouts of uncontrollable cussing...

Sorry to see you go, Marlon.
Retro stealth for the iPod... waterproof too... I think I need to make one for myself...
MINI tkes the now standard 360-degree view on a manufacturer site and puts, ahem, a new spin on it.
You knew it was coming... only a matter of time... behold, the ImagiNail NailJet Pro fingernail printer. As aptly stated by Gizmodo, now the possibilities for tackiness are endless.

Hiya, Dad!
The Reading Viaduct Project is dedicated to the preservation of the Reading RR train trestles that snake through the Callowhill Neighborhood, not far from where I live. Anyone who’s seen it knows how interesting and preservation-worthy it is. Sign up for news on events, etc. Via Travis and Sierra over at Skidmutro (congrats, BTW!)
A new online magazine about corporate identity design - great resource with downloadable manuals, styleguides, etc. Soon to have about 500 available! Check it.
