full pot

Random blurbs today - been busy with photoshoot testing, and getting everything out of the studio for a second photoshoot out-of-state (luckily in Florida!). Posting this week be sporadic at best.

New opening page/blog for PRIMER. Check it out!

Truly frickin' awesome - megaphone hats.

Jason makes some cool handmade biz cards. Slick.

I don't appreciate reeking like an ashtray after a night out (when the hell is Philly going smoke-free?), but I do appreciate design.

Happy 4th to MINI in the USA!

Tonight there is a FNA meeting about the proposed expansion (addition of an upstairs music venue and sidewalk seating) at Johnny Brenda's... a lunchtime fav of Primer staffers. I won't be able to make it, but I'll be able to support their efforts by writing in. More info here.

Along the same lines, FNA is holding a meeting with residents about a proposal to build 32 condos at Thompson & Columbia. Yup, right next to my house. The meeting will take place at the Fishtown Rec Center at 7PM, tomorrow.

Yes, Silk is closing.

And finally, the Cheesesteak Triangle immortalized in porcelain.

too much blood in my caffeine system...

BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH! Happy Bday BHogan!

I've been jamming to Mark Ronson's cover of "Just" for a little while now (I do love me some Radiohead!), but over on Gabe's blog, he's linked a video for the song. Sweetness - animated tags by several famous graf stars.

And more graf - House gets tagged.

BTW, while we're (still) speaking of graffiti, if you should have to report some that magically appears on your house, Philly's Finest now take official complaints online. City Wage Taxes at work!

Here's some cool animation trivia: on the official site, I noticed the star of Disney/Pixar's upcoming Cars, Lightning McQueen (named after both the famous late Steve McQueen and late Glenn McQueen, a directing animator) is shod with Lightyear Buzzard tires - reference to Buzz Lightyear from "Toy Story", and a parody of the ubiquitous Goodyear slicks. That got me wondering if the Pizza Planet truck would make another appearance... I'm pretty sure it will, I just wonder if it will have a personality. After a little searching I came across this Wikipedia entry on Pixar, highlighting some of in-jokes from their movies, including both the Pizza Planet truck and (the more overt) A113 cameos.

Skip the whole milk. Pass on soda. Drink more coffee and beer? Nutritionists agree, and I couldn't agree more!

GoodSearch is a new Yahoo!-powered search engine that donates half of its revenue to charities and schools chosen by users. You can even add GoodSearch to Your Firefox Search Bar. Excellent.

Chank has posted a new freefont... BTW, congrats on your soon-to-be-fatherdom!

Silly but way cool - virtual car ride thru parts of Seattle or San Fran... via Windows Live Local.

I've entered some photos in Tropolism's Your Hidden City, the world's first open-source architectural contest.

This video features a portable tape-player playing back panicked screams as it slides down a clothesline, hung from a carabiner, across a variety of settings. Inexplicably funny - just you try not to laugh.
