Too hot already

Uh, yeah. It sure did get all summer-like in a hurry. In one day, up from 50 to 90 and Philly's famous 200% humidity. Yikes. Hope everyone's Memorial Day weekend was enjoyable. Went to a couple BBQs, one at Russ' place, and then one at home for good charred eats last night. At both places food is cooked on a firepit grille, a recommendation I sent in and was posted to Uncrate this weekend. Thanks for the link, guys!

In keeping with the good weather, the ne'er-do-wells of PRIMER (and some special guests) will be riding the bikes down to the Abbaye in the Northern Liberties for Two Wheel Tuesday, a weekly gathering of unique motorcycles. It's something we've been trying to get together for some time now. Finally, the weather, our schedules and my bike are all cooperating. See you there for some Yards?

Rare deleted scene from the original Star Wars, originally the intoduction of Luke and his best bud Biggs Darklighter, the first guy who tried to blow up the Death Star but got shot by Darth Vader.

Steve McQueen's never-made movie "Yucatan" now seems to have a genuine shot at being made. McQueen planned to make the film after "Le Mans" (a personal fav) but didn't when that film ran over schedule and over budget.

Radiohead's Thom Yorke will release his debut solo album, "The Eraser," in July. Teaser site here.

Today is the first anniversary of our agency PRIMER. One year ago, on Friday the 13th, we took the leap and decided to do it our way. Brian has written an excellent toast, which appears on our site:

Raise your glasses high. Salute those who follow their dreams, take risks and work hard. Work doesn't have to be work and great design does make things better. To our clients, family and friends we thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the tip of our craniums. If it were not for you we would be a wild pack of freelancers looking for scraps instead of a fine-tuned creative agency. So I say raise those glasses again, to the future!

Real life Frogger - is it fake?

Just picked up one of these chrome-plated grill thingies to convert our firepit into a barbecue. 24" in diameter, it fits food for a crowd - we tested it with a whole rack of ribs and a few vegkabobs. Much easier than dealing with a seperate grille, and cheaper too... paired up with Trader Joe's 4-wood charcoal - awesome!

I'm sure you've seen those new Mac/PeeCee ads, but it bears linking nonetheless.
