The Bugatti Veyron wins Autocar's annual 0-100-0mph contest, even managing to beat a Suzuki GSX-R1000. Not only is the Bugatti faster than the Suzuki, it creates more g-force at maximum acceleration than you'd experience in an F-16 at take off. Crikey.

The 45-minute track "Drive" is The Crystal Method's new offering, timed to a standard distance run, starting slow for warm-up, building for the workout, and decreasing for the cool down. Available on iTunes for ten bucks. Instant workout playlist.

Transformers movie teaser trailer out...

Kendra has decided to get back into modeling, and is currently being represented by the Greer Lange agency here on the Main Line. Right now she has only a few shots, one taken by Russ during a Primer test shoot, the other is a simple snapshot that I had taken. More photos will be added soon, as I believe testing is scheduled for the upcoming weekend.

Keep her in mind for your next shoot!

Check out the trailer for Invincible... Philly, the Vet, JFK, 1976, E-A-G-L-E-S... need I say more?

Interesting new card design from Amex.

Been seeing a lot of vintage cars around Philly, all stickered up, rally style. Turns out the Great Race starts here in Philly this year, beginning on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on June 24th at noon and finishing in San Rafael, California on July 8th. The Great Race is an annual transcontinental rally race of pre-1960 vehicles. I think I'll have to check that out...

Following an untimely crash recently in St. Louis, Randy Webb of Webb Motorsports is now racing against the clock to get his #93 MINI, ÒThe Mule,Ó up and running again in time to compete at Summit Point for the MINI Meet East, on June 29th. WebbÕs co-sponsors at WhiteRoofRadio have launched a sponsorship drive page open to all MINI enthusiasts and race fans who want to show their support for the Webb team.

THIS JUST IN!
Philadelphia City Council has passed a bill to ban smoking in most restaurants and other businesses and public spaces in Philadelphia. The final vote was 9-6. The legislation includes exemptions for certain neighborhood taverns and outdoor cafŽs. No word yet as to whether the Mayor will sign it. More here.

Good stuff from John Hughes (and yeah, he's that John Hughes son).

Some of these PhotoShop roadsign mashups are excellent. Stay away fools!

Been looking at a lot of micro-modernist-architecture lately, considering something for the backyard: Modern Cabana, Loftcube, microcompacthome, Weehouses, ModernShed, MetroShed, Modular Dwellings, BlueSky MOD, and ecoSpace Studios. Too cool.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sign this petition to increase the broadcast of non-NASCAR related programming on SPEED. There's so much more to motorsports than just 300+ miles of left turns. And a hundred shows about the process and drama of 300+ miles of left turns. I'd rather watch re-runs of old races rather than new NASCAR. For example (and by complete coincidence), Gabe posted some great vintage footage of Fangio on his blog. Take note, SPEED.

There's been a bunch of talk about numbers stations recently, because of this eerie Craigslist posting. I had blogged about this before (see archive 10/11/2004) after I came across this post on Veer's blog The Skinny (excellent read, BTW), after I recognized the repeating sample at the end of the Wilco song Poor Places - the sample from which the album title Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is derived. They referenced the Conet Project, an archive of creepy recordings of numbers stations through the years. I burned a CD of the stuff for posterity, it's that hauntingly excellent. Fascinating stuff.
