A few thoughts on Martha's Vineyard, having just returned:

- Streetsigns. For all major roads. Get them.
- Stoplights. Or stop signs. Because 5-point intersection SUV free-for-alls aren't fun.
- "Tours all day" doesn't mean only twice daily.
- Mr. Policeman, if you'd like visitors to return and bring money to your island, stop harrassing them because they have out-of-state plates. And by harassment I mean pulling people over and making things up, only to not give a ticket because nothing happened.
- When you don't have half of your menu available, and the items are written in chalk on a chalkboard, erase them. It helps.
- Service is proportional to the number of tables. Fewer tables = poorer service.
- Why are all vegetables and rice on the island completely devoid of any discernable flavor?

Sorry there hasn't been much posting. Things around here have been a little more than the usual hectic. We just got done dogsitting for two weeks, there was a late-night photoshoot in there, and cleaning and finishing up small projects on the house culminated in an all-day shoot for "What You Get For The Money" on the HGTV and Fine Living networks.

That's right folks, TV. Kendra spotted the listing on Craigslist, I replied, and we were picked! Thanks to Chandra, who pitched us to the networks, Lyn the producer, and Steve the cameraman for a really great experience!

I'm exhausted. But tonight K and I are headed north (tonight!) to Martha's Vineyard for a much-needed vacation. Can't wait.

Shooting today!

Multi-lingual flash mob to descend upon Geno's. They may have better bread, and nicer lights, and cleaner pavements, but the xenophobia-as-American is going a little too far. I'm all for English as the language of the country, etc, but there's a little something not nice about this. Remember, we're pretty much all of foreign descent. Oh yeah, Pat's tastes better anyway.
